Terms of service
Meili GPS Terms of Service
Effective date: 1st January 2026
Last updated: 23rd May 2026
These Terms of Service explain the terms on which MeiliGPS Limited provides Meili GPS devices, subscriptions, software, websites, applications and related services.
Please read these Terms carefully before buying or using a Meili GPS product or service. By placing an order, creating an account, activating a device, starting a subscription, accessing the Meili Earth app, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Services.
These Terms are intended for publication on the Meili GPS website and apply to both consumers and business customers. Some provisions apply differently depending on whether you are acting as a consumer or as a business customer.
1. Who We Are
The Services are provided by MeiliGPS Limited, trading as Meili GPS.
In these Terms:
“Meili GPS”, “Meili”, “we”, “us” or “our” means MeiliGPS Limited.
“You” or “your” means the person, organisation or account holder buying, activating, subscribing to, accessing or using the Services.
Our contact details are available on the official Meili GPS website.
2. Key Terms at a Glance
This summary is provided for convenience only. The full Terms below apply.
A Meili GPS tracker requires an active subscription for live tracking, connectivity, alerts and app-based services.
The current standard Meili GPS global airtime plan is £7.99 per month, unless a different price is shown at checkout or agreed with you.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled or paused.
You may cancel or pause your subscription at any time, subject to the billing rules in these Terms.
Meili GPS is a location and alerting aid. It is not an emergency dispatch service, rescue service, safeguarding service, lone-worker safety service, or substitute for proper supervision, risk assessment, navigation equipment, emergency communications or professional rescue systems.
GPS, cellular, IoT, mapping, app and notification services can be delayed, inaccurate, interrupted or unavailable.
You must not use Meili GPS to track another person without lawful authority and any required consent. If you believe a Device or Service is being used unlawfully, abusively, or without appropriate consent, please contact privacy@meiligps.com
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

4. Agreement Structure
Your agreement with us consists of:
- these Terms;
- the product, pricing and subscription details shown at checkout or in your plan confirmation;
- any additional terms for optional services, promotions, warranties, returns, replacement programmes or business accounts; and
- our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and any Acceptable Use or Fair Usage rules published by us.
If there is a conflict, the order confirmation or specific plan terms will apply only to the extent of that conflict, unless this would reduce rights that cannot lawfully be reduced.
5. Eligibility and Authority
You must be at least 18 years old to buy a Device, create an Account or start a Subscription.
If you buy or use the Services on behalf of a school, company, club, charity, expedition provider, public authority or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
You are responsible for ensuring that all Users under your Account comply with these Terms.
6. Our Products and Services
Meili GPS provides outdoor personal GPS tracking products and connected services designed to assist with location visibility, group management, route awareness, status updates and alerts.
The Services may include, depending on your Device, plan and region:
- GPS location reporting;
- route and movement history;
- group or expedition visibility;
- status updates;
- SOS or alert notifications;
- geofencing or boundary alerts;
- shared tracking sessions or links;
- access to the App and web tools;
- support resources;
- firmware and software updates.
We may add, remove, suspend, modify or improve features from time to time in accordance with these Terms.
7. Hardware Purchases
When you buy a Device from us:
- ownership of the physical Device passes to you once we have received full payment and the Device has been delivered;
- risk in the Device passes to you when it is delivered to the address you provided;
- the software, firmware, App and cloud platform are licensed to you, not sold;
- connected features require an active Subscription; and
- buying a Device does not include free lifetime connectivity, airtime or service access unless expressly stated by us in writing.
You must keep your Device safe, charged, updated and used in accordance with our instructions.
8. Subscriptions and Airtime Plans
Certain Device features require an active Subscription.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout or agreed with you, the standard Meili GPS Global Airtime Plan is £7.99 per month.
The Global Airtime Plan is a recurring monthly plan that provides connectivity for supported Meili GPS services, subject to these Terms, coverage, fair usage, technical limitations and any applicable regional restrictions.
By starting a Subscription, you authorise us or our payment provider to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis until the Subscription is cancelled, paused or terminated.
All Subscription charges are payable in advance for the relevant billing period unless we agree otherwise.
9. Cancelling or Pausing Your Subscription
You may cancel or pause your Subscription at any time through the customer portal, where available, or by contacting us using the support details on our website.
If you cancel your Subscription:
- we will stop future recurring charges after the current paid billing period;
- your connected services will continue until the end of the current billing period unless we tell you otherwise;
- live tracking, alerts, connectivity and other connected features may stop after the current billing period;
- cancellation does not automatically refund charges already paid for the current billing period, except where required by law or expressly agreed by us.
If you pause your Subscription:
- billing may be suspended or reduced according to the pause options available at the time;
- live tracking, alerts, data transmission and other connected features may stop or be limited while paused;
- you may need to reactivate the Subscription before the Device can transmit live location or alert data again.
You are responsible for cancelling or pausing before your next billing date if you do not want to be charged for the next period.
10. Price Changes
We may change Subscription prices from time to time.
If a price change affects an existing recurring Subscription, we will give you reasonable advance notice before the change takes effect.
If you do not accept a price change, you may cancel your Subscription before the next renewal.
Price changes will not affect charges already paid for the current billing period.
11. Optional Services, Add-ons and Programmes
We may offer optional services, integrations, replacement programmes, upgrades, premium features, group tools, business services or third-party services from time to time.
Additional charges may apply. Any such services may be subject to separate terms, third-party terms, minimum requirements or eligibility rules.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, optional add-ons renew on the same basis as the Subscription they are attached to and should be cancelled separately if you no longer require them.
We may withdraw, change or replace optional services where reasonably necessary for legal, technical, supplier, commercial or operational reasons.
12. Returns, Cooling-Off Rights and Statutory Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
If you are a UK Consumer buying online, you may have the right to cancel your order for a Device within 14 days after delivery, subject to legal exceptions and any deduction permitted by law for handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the goods.
If you are a UK Consumer buying a service or Subscription online, you may have a 14-day cancellation right from the date the service contract is formed. If you ask us to start providing the Service during that cancellation period, you may be required to pay for Services provided up to the point of cancellation, where permitted by law.
Faulty goods, digital content and services are dealt with under applicable consumer law. For Consumers, Devices must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose where applicable; digital content and services must meet the standards required by law.
Our separate Returns and Refund Policy may provide additional details, but it cannot reduce your statutory rights.
13. Coverage and Connectivity
The Services rely on third-party telecommunications networks, cellular and IoT connectivity, GPS and other satellite systems, cloud infrastructure, mapping services, app stores, notification systems, payment providers and other suppliers.
Coverage may be described as global, worldwide or international, but this does not mean that coverage is available in every location or at all times.
- Service availability and performance may be affected by:
- local telecommunications coverage;
- network outages or congestion;
- roaming or carrier restrictions;
- local laws, licensing rules, sanctions or technical restrictions;
- satellite visibility;
- terrain, mountains, valleys, cliffs or remote areas;
- buildings, vehicles, tunnels, bridges, underground areas or dense woodland;
- weather, atmospheric conditions, interference or environmental conditions;
- Device placement, orientation, battery level or condition;
- App permissions, mobile handset settings or operating system restrictions;
- maintenance, updates, cyber incidents or supplier failures.
We do not own or control all networks, satellites, base stations, app stores, mapping providers, telecommunications providers or other third-party systems used to deliver the Services. We are not responsible for failures, delays, inaccuracies, interruptions or reduced functionality caused by third-party systems or conditions outside our reasonable control.
14. Location Accuracy and Data Limitations
Location data, timestamps, routes, geofences, notifications and status information are estimates and may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, duplicated, unavailable or interrupted.
GPS and network-based location systems are inherently subject to technical and environmental limitations.
You must not rely solely on the Services for:
- emergency response;
- rescue decisions;
- safeguarding decisions;
- supervision of children or vulnerable people;
- medical decisions;
- navigation;
- lone-worker protection;
- legal compliance;
- asset recovery;
- time-critical decisions where loss, injury or damage could result.
You must use independent judgement and maintain appropriate alternative safety, communication, navigation and supervision arrangements.
15. SOS Alerts and Emergency Use
Some Devices or plans may include SOS, alert, assistance request or emergency-style notification features.
Meili GPS is not an emergency service, emergency monitoring centre, dispatch service, search and rescue provider, safeguarding provider, medical service, security service or lone-worker alarm receiving centre.
SOS alerts and other alerts may be sent to authorised contacts, account users, group leaders or other recipients depending on your settings and plan. Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, Meili GPS does not directly call emergency services or guarantee that emergency services, rescue services, group leaders, schools, parents, guardians or authorised contacts will receive, read, act on or respond to an alert.
SOS alerts may fail, be delayed, contain inaccurate location data, or be unavailable due to coverage, battery, Device condition, network availability, App settings, notification settings, third-party systems or other factors.
You must not rely on Meili GPS as your only means of communication or emergency support. Users should carry suitable safety equipment and independent communications appropriate to the activity, location and risk.
If you intentionally misuse SOS or alert features, knowingly trigger false alerts, or allow others under your Account to do so, you may be responsible for reasonable third-party charges, fines, penalties, losses or costs arising from that misuse, including search and rescue, emergency response or call-out charges, where permitted by law.
16. Use with Children, Schools, Groups and Organisations
Meili GPS may be used by families, schools, clubs, expedition providers, outdoor groups, employers and other organisations, subject to these Terms.
If you use the Services with children, students, cadets, scouts, Duke of Edinburgh groups, school groups, employees, volunteers, participants, vulnerable people or any other third party, you are responsible for:
- ensuring you have lawful authority and any required consent;
- providing appropriate notices and information to Users, parents, guardians, staff or participants;
- complying with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and any other applicable privacy laws;
- complying with safeguarding, education, employment, outdoor activity and health and safety obligations;
- carrying out appropriate risk assessments;
- providing adequate supervision;
- ensuring Users understand the limitations of the Device and Services;
- ensuring emergency and escalation procedures do not depend solely on Meili GPS.
Meili GPS is a support tool only and does not replace professional judgement, adult supervision, safeguarding procedures, risk assessments, expedition planning, emergency plans, route cards, check-ins, qualified leaders or appropriate outdoor safety practices.
17. Lawful Tracking, Consent and Anti-Stalking
You must use the Services lawfully, fairly and transparently.
You must not use a Device or the Services to track, monitor, locate or profile another person unless you have lawful authority and any required consent or legal basis.
You must not use Meili GPS for stalking, harassment, coercive control, domestic abuse, unauthorised employee monitoring, covert surveillance, unlawful asset tracking, unlawful child tracking, or any purpose that infringes another person’s rights.
We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably suspect misuse, unlawful tracking, safeguarding risk, abuse, fraud or breach of these Terms.
We may cooperate with law enforcement or regulatory authorities where legally required or reasonably necessary.
18. Shared Sessions, Links and Privacy Settings
The Services may allow you to share live or historic location information through shared sessions, links, group views or other sharing features.
You are responsible for:
- choosing who can access shared sessions or links;
- checking privacy settings;
- withdrawing access when no longer required;
- ensuring you have lawful authority to share location data;
- understanding that anyone with access to a public or forwarded link may be able to view the information made available through that link.
We strongly recommend limiting access to shared tracking information to trusted recipients only.
We are not responsible for misuse of shared links, screenshots, exported data or location information that you or your authorised Users choose to share, except where caused by our breach of duty.
19. Geofencing and Asset Recovery
The Services may include geofencing, boundary alerts or asset-location features.
Geofences and alerts are approximate and may be delayed, inaccurate or unavailable.
You must not place yourself or others at risk by attempting to recover a Device, asset or item based solely on Meili GPS location data. The asset or Device may be in a dangerous, unlawful, inaccessible or private location.
Where theft, danger or unlawful activity is suspected, contact the appropriate authorities and do not attempt recovery in a way that could cause injury, death, property damage or unlawful entry.
20. Account Security and Verification
You are responsible for keeping your Account login details secure.
You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access or misuse.
We may require reasonable verification before making Account changes, transferring a Device, cancelling or reactivating a Subscription, changing ownership records, providing support, or disclosing information. Verification may include proof of purchase, serial number, account email address, payment confirmation or other reasonable evidence.
We may refuse or delay a request where we cannot verify authority to act on the Account.
21. Device Serial Numbers, Transfers and Reassignment
Devices may be identified by serial number, IMEI, SIM identifier or other technical identifier.
Subscriptions are linked to your Account and, where applicable, to a Device. You must not sell, transfer, lend or assign a Subscription to another person without our consent.
Where technically supported, we may allow you to reassign a Subscription between compatible Devices on your own Account.
If you sell or transfer a Device, you are responsible for removing it from your Account, cancelling or transferring any Subscription where permitted, deleting shared access, and ensuring the new user understands that a Subscription may be required.
22. Your Content and User Data
You are responsible for any names, labels, routes, messages, notes, images, emergency contact details, group information, uploaded content or other data that you or your Users add to the Services.
You must not upload, transmit or share content that is unlawful, abusive, misleading, discriminatory, defamatory, invasive of privacy, infringing, harmful, malicious or otherwise inappropriate.
You confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to provide any content or data you upload to the Services.
23. Data Protection and Privacy
Our use of personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Location data may be personal data and may be sensitive in context, particularly where it relates to children, vulnerable people, employees, homes, schools, routes, habits or outdoor activities.
If you are a Business Customer, school, club, employer, expedition provider or organisation, you are responsible for determining your role under applicable data protection law and for providing appropriate notices, legal bases, consents, policies and safeguards for your Users.
You must not add personal data to the Services unless you have the right to do so.
24. Software, Firmware, Apps and Updates
We may provide software, firmware and App updates from time to time.
Updates may be required to maintain security, compatibility, performance, legal compliance or continued access to the Services.
You agree not to:
- copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code except where permitted by law;
- interfere with security or authentication features;
- use the Services to build a competing product;
- access the Services through unauthorised means;
- bypass usage limits or technical restrictions;
- introduce malware, harmful code or excessive traffic.
We do not guarantee compatibility with every mobile device, browser, operating system, network, app store or third-party platform.
25. Acceptable Use
You must not use the Services:
- unlawfully, fraudulently or deceptively;
- to stalk, harass, intimidate, control or monitor someone without lawful authority;
- to infringe privacy, data protection, employment, safeguarding or human rights;
- to interfere with or disrupt our systems or third-party systems;
- for military, sanctioned, prohibited, hazardous or illegal purposes;
- to transmit unlawful, harmful or abusive content;
- to overload networks or abuse fair usage;
- in breach of export controls, sanctions or local laws;
- in any way that may damage Meili GPS, other users, third-party providers or the public.
We may suspend, restrict or terminate access where we reasonably believe this clause has been breached.
26. Fair Usage
The Global Airtime Plan is intended for normal personal, family, expedition, school, club, outdoor and organisational tracking use, not excessive, abusive or unauthorised commercial data transmission.
We may apply reasonable fair usage controls to protect network availability, comply with supplier requirements, prevent abuse or maintain service quality.
Where possible, we will notify you before applying restrictions, unless immediate action is required for security, legal, supplier or operational reasons.
27. Battery Life and Product Performance
Any battery life, coverage, update frequency, waterproofing, durability, performance or range estimates are indicative only unless expressly guaranteed by us in writing.
Actual performance may vary depending on:
- reporting frequency;
- movement;
- temperature;
- terrain;
- network conditions;
- satellite visibility;
- Device age and condition;
- battery age and charging habits;
- firmware version;
- settings and usage patterns.
You are responsible for ensuring Devices are charged and tested before use.
28. Service Availability, Maintenance and Changes
We aim to provide reliable Services, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, real-time or continuous availability.
We may suspend, restrict, update, maintain, modify or discontinue any part of the Services where reasonably necessary for:
- security;
- maintenance;
- technical improvement;
- legal or regulatory compliance;
- supplier or network changes;
- prevention of misuse;
- business continuity;
- operational reasons.
Where practical, we will try to give advance notice of material changes or planned outages, but we may act without notice where necessary.
29. Third-Party Services
The Services may depend on or integrate with third-party services, including telecommunications providers, IoT providers, satellite systems, app stores, mapping providers, hosting providers, analytics providers, payment processors, email providers, SMS providers and notification services.
Third-party services may be subject to their own terms, privacy policies, limitations and availability.
We are not responsible for third-party services, except to the extent required by law or where the issue is caused by our breach of these Terms.
30. International Use, Export Controls and Sanctions
You are responsible for complying with local laws in any country where you use, carry, import, export, sell, transfer or activate a Device or use the Services.
The Services may not be available or lawful in every country.
You must not use, export, re-export, sell, supply, transfer or make available any Device, software or Service in breach of applicable sanctions, export controls, trade restrictions or local laws.
We may restrict or suspend Services in countries, regions or circumstances where required by law, supplier restrictions, sanctions, network availability or operational risk.
31. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Devices, App, software, firmware, website, platform, branding, content, documentation, designs, data structures, user interface and Services belong to Meili GPS or our licensors.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the software, firmware, App and Services for lawful use with Meili GPS products.
You must not use our branding, trademarks, logos or content without our prior written permission, except as permitted by law.
32. Suspension and Termination by Us
We may suspend, restrict or terminate your Account, Subscription or access to the Services if:
- payment fails or remains overdue;
- you breach these Terms;
- we reasonably suspect fraud, misuse, unlawful tracking, safeguarding risk, abuse or security risk;
- continued service would breach law, sanctions, supplier requirements or third-party terms;
- required third-party services are unavailable;
- we need to protect the Services, other users, the public or Meili GPS;
- we discontinue a Service or Device line.
Where reasonable and lawful, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue before termination. We may act immediately where necessary.
33. Business Customers
If you are a Business Customer:
- you are responsible for all use of the Services by your staff, contractors, students, participants, volunteers, customers, group members or other Users;
- you must ensure your own policies, risk assessments, data protection notices and procedures are suitable;
- you must not rely on consumer-only cancellation rights unless expressly agreed by us;
- you are responsible for ensuring the Services are suitable for your intended use before purchase or deployment.
Business Customers must indemnify Meili GPS against reasonable losses, claims, costs and liabilities arising from their unlawful use of the Services, breach of data protection law, unauthorised tracking, safeguarding failures, misuse of SOS features, or breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by Meili GPS’s own breach, negligence or unlawful act.
34. Warranty and Disclaimers
For Consumers, your statutory rights are not affected.
For Business Customers, except as expressly stated in these Terms or required by law, the Services are provided on an “as available” basis and we do not give any warranty that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, perfectly accurate, available in all locations, compatible with all systems, or suitable for any particular high-risk use.
We do not guarantee that:
- a Device will always obtain a GPS fix;
- location data will always be accurate or current;
- alerts will always be sent, received, read or acted upon;
- coverage will exist in any particular location;
- the Services will prevent harm, loss, theft, injury, death, missing-person incidents, safeguarding failures or emergency situations.
35. Liability: Important Consumer Protection Statement
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
In particular, nothing excludes or limits liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- breach of your legal rights in relation to goods, digital content or services where such rights cannot be excluded;
- any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
If you are a Consumer, these Terms do not affect your statutory rights.
36. Liability to Consumers
If you are a Consumer, we are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable.
We supply consumer products and Services for domestic, personal, family, recreational and ordinary outdoor use. If you use them for commercial, business, institutional or resale purposes, the Business Customer terms may apply.

Subject to Clause 35, our total aggregate liability to a Business Customer arising out of or in connection with the Services, whether in contract, tort, negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise, shall not exceed the greater of:
-
the total amount paid by that Business Customer to Meili GPS for the affected Services in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or

Consumers may also have rights to use alternative dispute resolution where available.
40. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
The current version will be published on our website.
If we make material changes that affect an active Subscription, we will give reasonable notice where required by law or where the change materially disadvantages you.
If you do not agree to a material change, you may cancel your Subscription before the change takes effect.
Continuing to use the Services after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
No employee, distributor, reseller, agent or representative may change these Terms unless the change is confirmed by Meili GPS in writing.
41. Assignment
You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent, except where permitted by law.
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, provided this does not materially reduce your rights or increase your obligations. We will notify you where required by law.
42. Severance
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply.
43. No Waiver
If we do not enforce a right under these Terms immediately, this does not mean we have waived that right.
44. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a Consumer living in another part of the United Kingdom, you may have the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
